What is Zapp Global Free?
Zapp Global Free is a FREE service that allows you to call any Zapp mobile or FixTel subscriber from your computer, and provide you a way to notify subscribers from other mobile and fixed networks so they can call you back.
How much will this service cost me?
For the Internet users there are no charges. It's totally FREE!
How can I register?
Fill-in the registration form with the correct information and, soon after, you will receive an e-mail with an activation link. Access the link from your message to activate your account then login using your e-mail address and your chosen password. If it's the first time please allow the ActiveX plugin (your soft phone) to be installed on your computer. Then you can immediately start communicating with Zapp mobile or FixTel subscribers from your computer with your new phone number.
How does the service work?
The embedded Web application on this site or the standalone VoIP application installed on your computer (the softphone) connects to a specialized telephony service in Zapp network, ensuring a mutual voice link with Zapp mobile or FixTel subscribers.
Whom can I call?
You can call any Zapp mobile or FixTel subscribers who have activated Zapp Global Free option. Now you can notify your friends from other mobile or fixed networks so they can call you back.
Who can call me and how?
You can be called on your assigned phone number by any Zapp mobile or FixTel subscribers who have activated the Zapp Global Free option. Additionaly, you can receive calls from any mobile or fixed network on your Zapp Global Free number.
What if I'm not online?
If you're not online when a Zapp mobile or FixTel subscriber is calling you, a voicemail message will be sent to your e-mail address so you can listen it later and eventualy call back when online again.
What do I need to use the service?
A computer equipped with a 500MHz processor at least, a sound card with headphones or speaker and microphone, and broadband Internet connection. Basically a very regular computer now these days.
What is a softphone?
The softphone is a software VoIP application having the features of a regular phone and behaving like one. By using it you can make and receive phone calls on your computer. You can use the web softphone embedded on this site by logging in or download a standalone application from here.
Is it necessary to configure my softphone?
The embedded web softphone does not require any configuration. However, if you intend to use a standalone application then you need to perform some basic configuration steps. Here you can find more about the standalone softphone.
How do I use the softphone?
Since both the embedded web softphone and the standalone one resembles to a normal traditional phone device, both in look and behavior, no special training nor help is necessary. Just use the softphone as usual to dial or answer the incoming calls.
